Robert Smith, “don’t care if Monday’s blue, Tuesday’s great and Wednesday’s too. Thursday I don’t care about you, but Friday I’m in love”.  Saturday, you ask? He sings, “wait”. Sunday? “...always comes too late”. Sounds like the guy is only in love on Friday, At least he’s predictable.  

The video looks like it was nearly done in one take with the bubbles, costume, prop and backdrop changes all choreographed during certain sections of the song. It gets a little weird when most of the band jumps in a bed and gets under the covers. Another highlight features the drummer wearing the bass drum. I think a Pop-Up Video would be useful in tracking all of the nuances and symbolism.

If Friday would be the only day to be in love, you’d sure have a lot of time to commit to other pursuits. I’d make sure, though, that you’re “Friday Love” understood that and didn’t have Saturday through Thursday lovers. The song deserves to play everyday, not just Friday.
