French Toast Crunch Cereal

I always strayed from Cookie Crisp Cereal because I was afraid Grandma would find out and corner me with, “Cookies for breakfast? You’re gonna get diabetes”! When French Toast Crunch came out in ’95, I took a chance. I was hooked.

Little pieces of French (Melba) Toast with cinnamon flavor baked in, already for that milk bath; what could be better? One day the stuff was on sale for half price at Eagle, so I snapped up 10 boxes. I was glad I did. Two weeks later, General Mills changed the cereal to look just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It just wasn’t the same.

Now defunct in the US since the mid-00s, the original formula is still available in Canada. I could make a road trip above Minnesota or the UP, stock up on some cases and maybe even come back with some Molson Canadian. I wonder how much I can cross the border with.
