Where was your favorite place (that's not around anymore) to get an Ice Cream Cone? I used to go the stand next to Arnold Palmer Mini-Putt. Was it JJ's? J&J's?

I remember a little stand called the frosty mug on E Riverside, When I was a kid, it seemed like it was way out there in the country. We used to go there for root beer floats after church on Sundays. It's all a concrete jungle out there now.

In Beloit on Riverside Dr. was Dryan's. In 1979, some classmates and I finished our final dress rehearsal for our spring musical "Kismet" at Beloit Memorial. We went to Dryan's for ice cream. It was 15 minutes til closing, the lone cashier was getting ready to lock up for the night and 50 teenagers come in! Poor guy. Now the apartment I live in is on that site.

My favorite ice cream stand was on 251 in Rochelle. It's been gone a long time. There's an overpass there now. I remember always getting a chocolate cone with sprinkles.
